Buenos Aires, Oct 27 (EFE).- Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin has enthralled his Argentine fans during a concert at a benefit for 53 Early Childhood Centers that serve around 8,000 babies and toddlers.
The Latin music star's performance was held in the Argentine capital in front of thousands of fans who had previously exchanged recyclable plastic bottles and packs of diapers for tickets.
Around 9,000 packages of diapers and some 105,000 bottles were collected.
During the concert, which is part of the "Festival Coca-Cola in Concert", organized by Pop Art Music, the singer delighted the crowd with a repertoire that included his greatest hits such as "Come With Me" and "Vida" before a large audiovisual display.
The government of Buenos Aires supported the concert and will also support the work done by the Ricky Martin Foundation, the NGO created by the singer dedicated to the well-being of children around the world, including the fight against child trafficking.
Two months ago, the foundation opened in Puerto Rico the Tau Center in Loiza, an educational space that works as a platform for social action to combat the oppression of children.
In addition to the contributions of those who attended, the organizers also put on sale a limited series of VIP passes with the proceeds to be donated to two NGOs and the Ricky Martin Foundation.
