Buenos Aires, Jan 18 (efe-epa).- Boca Juniors announced Friday the signing of a pair of midfielders: Jorman Campuzano from Colombia's Atletico Nacional; and Ivan Marcone, who comes to Buenos Aires from Mexican side Cruz Azul.
"I'm happy to be here. From the moment they called it was a goal to arrive at Boca, so I'm very excited about this new project. It comes at a good time, as the right age to face such an important challenge," Marcone said at club headquarters.
The 28-year-old midfielder is well acquainted with Boca manager Gustavo Alfaro, who coached Marcone at Argentina's Arsenal.
"Gustavo had me as a little kid. I worked with him for four or five years, he was there for my debut. He was a very important coach in my soccer career," Marcone said.
For Campuzano, joining Boca represents his first experience with Argentine soccer.
Now 22, he made his pro debut with Colombia's Deportivo Pereira in 2015 and moved to Atletico Nacional in 2018.
Boca Juniors is set to play a friendly Sunday against Aldosivi as the squad prepares for the restart of the Superliga Argentina season.
Boca are currently in sixth place with 24 points, 12 fewer than leaders Racing Club, though Boca have two matches in hand.
