Guayaquil, Ecuador, Dec 10 (efe-epa).- Second-Division champion Mushuc Runa and Aucas, which is in eighth place in the First Division standings, will play this week for Ecuador's last spot in the 2019 Copa Sudamericana.
The match is the result of changes made to the Ecuadorian soccer championship system and approved by the South American Soccer Confederation (CSF).
On Saturday, Universidad Catolica, Independiente del Valle and Macara qualified for the 2019 Copa Sudamericana, South America's secondary club tournament.
The first leg of the series will be played on Tuesday at Tungurahua province's Mushuc Runa Cooperativa de Ahorro y Credito Stadium, a facility that opened in November, sits 3,200 meters (10,498 feet) above sea level and can hold 6,000 people.
The second leg will be played on Saturday at Aucas's Gonzalo Pozo Stadium, which has a capacity of 18,799 people and is located in the southern section of the Ecuadorian capital.
