Miami, Nov 6 (EFE).- The new Madame Tussauds Museum in Orlando, Florida, will soon receive another "resident," a wax figure of Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin, who will first see the creation when it is unveiled on Nov. 19 in Las Vegas, the museum announced Thursday.
"I cannot wait to see my wax figure. It will be so very surreal! It was a wonderful experience to sit for the amazing artists who create these wax figures. I feel honored to be inducted into Madame Tussauds, and even more so, that I will be featured in Madame Tussauds Orlando, as Florida has a special place in my heart," said Martin in a communique.
The singer, who is in the middle of his "Live In Mexico" tour, will travel to Las Vegas to participate in the 15th edition of the Latin Grammys on Nov. 20.
The wax statue will then be shipped to Orlando, where it will be placed on permanent exhibit at the museum.
To create the statue, sculptors had to take more than 500 different measurements of the singer's facial and other features.
Madame Tussauds, which was founded more than 250 years ago and has its main museum in London, is the world's best-known wax museum, with 17 locations worldwide and the world's largest collection of wax figures honoring celebrities, sports figures, musicians and politicians, among others.
